Our center has a long history of proven-effective results for helping young children develop the foundational skills for early academic and behavioral success. The components of our program evolved from real life experiences, both in public school settings and in private preschools. Dr. Gibson taught in regular and special education classrooms in public school for 10 years and experienced the “learning curve” for how to teach in ways that children can learn.
In 1984, Dr. Gibson opened our first school, the Education Station, in Bryan, Texas. Three years later, she opened a second location in Bryan, Texas, named the Collier Campus. Both schools were highly successful and filled to capacity so, in 1996, Dr. Gibson opened our current facility, Longmire Learning Center, in College Station, Texas.
What makes our program unique is the integrated learning with play and our emphasis on child development both socially and emotionally. The program at LLC focuses on developing all aspects of learning in an environment that fosters independence, confidence, and responsible decision-making.
Children learn while receiving instruction and playing, socializing and cooperating and collaborating. The daily activities encourage listening and following directions, thinking, making choices, self-regulation and pre-academic learning practice. Let’s examine some of the unique components of our program at LLC.
