Our Story

Our center has over 35 years of proven-effective results for helping young children develop the foundational skills for early academic and behavioral success. The components of our program evolved from real life experiences, both in public schools and private preschools. In 1984, Dr. Vicki Gibson opened The Education Station in Bryan, Texas. Three years later, she opened a second location in Bryan, Texas, the Collier Campus. Both schools were highly successful and filled to capacity. In 1996, Dr. Gibson opened our current facility, Longmire Learning Center, in College Station, Texas. The current center was purchased by Amie McCoy in 2008.

What makes our program unique is the integrated learning with play and our emphasis on child development both socially and emotionally. The program at Longmire Learning Center focuses on developing all aspects of learning in an environment that fosters independence, confidence, and responsible decision-making.

Children learn while receiving instruction and playing, socializing, cooperating and collaborating. The daily activities encourage listening and following directions, thinking, making choices, self-regulation and pre-academic learning practice.
